The village church of Gogasheni stands on the Vardzia side of Aspindza municipality. No dedication has stuck to the title, and the church is called simply by the village.
The country here is hilly and open: Akhchia is about five kilometres away, Agara nearly six, and beyond them the Kura valley leads to the cave town of Vardzia. Villages are few and the roads are quiet.
The church can be approached at any time; follow the coordinates. The trip combines well with a visit to Vardzia.
