The Church of the Prophet Jonah in Svaneti, in the village of Ienashi, Mestia municipality, is an architectural miracle of the 13th-14th centuries. It is characterized by a hall type, framed by a gallery on three sides. The interior of the temple is divided into two parts by two-stage pilasters supporting the vault of the arch. Light enters the interior through slits in the altar and the western wall. The facades of the church are modest but majestic. Although the frescoes inside the church have reached us in a damaged state, they still surprise with their beauty.
