The church of St. George under the Ipkhi name stands by Ienashi village in Zemo Svaneti. Ipkhi is the name of the locality, and it is what tells this shrine apart from the other St. George churches of the area.
Ienashi lies in the Lenjeri valley, north of Mestia. The spot is busy by Svan standards: four hundred metres away stands the church of St. George in Shkaleri, a kilometre off the ruins of Zagri Matskhvari in Sidianari and the second Ipkhi church by Leshguani.
Small Svan churches rarely hold regular services, yet the shrine can be approached at any time. Follow the coordinates.
