The church of the Archangel stands in Sidianari, a Svan village eight kilometres from Mestia. It is the working shrine of the village, one of its two church sites.
Two hundred and fifty metres away survive the ruins of the Zagri Matskhvari church: matskhvari is the Svan form of the word Saviour. A kilometre off stands the Ipkhi church of St. George by Ienashi, and a little further the church in Shkaleri.
The shrine can be approached at any time; follow the coordinates. Treat the neighbouring ruins with care.
