The church of the Archangel stands in Kvanchianari, a small Svan village on the upper Enguri. Dedications to the Archangel are almost as frequent in Svaneti as those to St. George.
The village belongs to the same group as Lahili and Shkaleri: seven hundred metres away stands the church of St. George in Shkaleri, the same distance leads to the St. George church of Lahili, and a little further lie the ruins of Lamaria and of the church of St. Elijah.
Small Svan churches rarely hold regular services, yet the shrine can be approached at any time. Follow the coordinates.
