The church of the Saviour stands in Lakhushdi, a Svan village eight kilometres from Mestia. In Svaneti the Saviour is called matskhvar, and dedications to him are almost as frequent here as those to St. George.
Lakhushdi belongs to the Lenjeri group of villages. Eight hundred metres away stands the Lenjeri church of St. George, and two kilometres off the shrines of Kvanchianari and Lahili. The village is small, its houses set along the slope.
There are usually no regular services here, yet the shrine can be approached at any time. Follow the coordinates.
