The church of St George stands in Upureti village. The dedication is named plainly here and holds in every local name of the church.
Upureti and neighbouring Milistskaro have gathered a whole scattering of shrines around them: the naeklesiari at the Akhaldaba cemetery and the ruins of the Akhaldaba church stand about a kilometre and a half away, the Lomisa niche a kilometre and seven hundred metres off, and another niche of Upureti itself a little further.
The church is rural and its gates are opened by arrangement, and the village will point you to the right person. The rules are the usual ones: covered shoulders and knees, a headscarf for women, quiet. The four Upureti shrines can be walked in one outing, though the tracks between them are country ones.
