In Georgia a salotsavi means a place of prayer: a small structure or a marked spot where people come to pray outside a service. This salotsavi carries the name of St. George.
The village runs along a slope above the valley, and its shrines stand in a chain: the church of St. George about six hundred metres away, the church of St. Nicholas a little further, and a kilometre on the khati of Paetoni at Galavani and the church of Tsinamdzghvrishvili. A namesake by dedication is very close, so follow the coordinates. Mtskheta is about thirteen kilometres away.
Places of prayer are rarely locked and can be approached at any hour. Candles are lit here by local custom, and it is better not to move what others have left. Dress modestly and keep the noise down. Photographing from outside is free, inside it is better to ask.
