The Kviratskhoveli church stands in Galavani village. Kviratskhoveli means the Resurrection of the Lord, and it is one of the commonest dedications in Kartli: the district alone holds several such churches.
The other church of the village stands about five hundred metres away, the Tsinamdzghvrishvili church a kilometre off. Less than two kilometres away begins the district of Tsinamdzghvriantkari with its churches, and nearby, at Zakaro, stands a revered place, the Shindiani khati.
The church is rural and its gates are opened by arrangement, easiest to ask for in the village itself. The rules are the usual ones: covered shoulders and knees, a headscarf for women, quiet. The village is small, and both its churches can be walked in an hour.
