A khati is what a revered shrine is called in Georgia, most often one linked to an icon. This khati carries the name Paetoni, and what it means is not explained in the village.

There are three khati in this district and they stand close together: Tsatskhviani at Zakaro about three hundred and sixty metres away, Shindiani nine hundred and eighteen. The churches of Tsinamdzghvriantkari and Galavani lie a couple of kilometres off, yet shrines of this kind are gathered precisely here.

The site is open, there are no gates, and you can come at any hour. The candles, cloths and what others have left are better left untouched: at such shrines they are part of local practice. The three khati of the district are conveniently walked in one outing.
