Naeklesiari means the site where a church once stood. This is a small naeklesiari known as a palace one: the building was little and belonged to a palace of which nothing more is told here.
The site stands apart from the whole district: almost five kilometres from here to the church of St George in Saguramo, the same to the Shankevani naeklesiari, and a little over five to the Buriani monastery. The hills of Mtskheta-Mtianeti lie all around.
The site is open, there are no gates, and you can come at any hour. There is little to see here beyond the place itself, so people come more for the sake of a full round of the district than for a view. Behave by the naeklesiari as at any shrine.
