The second sanctuary of Livadi stands about seven hundred metres from the monastery of the same name. No dedication is given for either of the two sites of the village, so they have to be told apart by type and location: a parish church here, a monastery there.
Livadi lies on the Tsalka plateau, between Manglisi and Tsalka, and its name is of Greek origin, meaning a meadow. The plateau here is high and open, with sparse villages and a climate noticeably cooler than the Tbilisi lowlands.
There is no fixed schedule of services and the site can be approached at any time. Both churches of the village can be walked in fifteen minutes, and it makes sense to leave the car at the monastery. The rules are those of any working church: covered shoulders and knees, quiet inside and in the yard.
