A prayer place of Saint Elias in Bareti. In folk tradition the prophet Elias is linked with thunder and rain, and his day, Iliaoba, is kept in many villages as a feast of the whole neighbourhood.
The place stands among the houses rather than on the outskirts, as many shrines here do. The church ruins are very close, a hundred metres away, the church of Peter and Paul a little further, and Saint Barbare and Saint Demetre to the north.
Standing among the houses, this place is easier to find than the others, and it makes a convenient start for walking the village. The prayer places keep no order and can be approached at any time.
