A prayer place of Saint Charalampos in Akhalsheni. Charalampos is honoured as a protector from illness and pestilence, and in the Greek villages of the upland his name appears especially often.
This is the last shrine of the Akhalsheni group, standing almost at its centre: the church of Saint George at a hundred and thirty metres, the prayer places of Saint Panteleimon and Saint Sophia a little further, and the main Dormition church at the other edge.
From here it is convenient to close the circle round the group if you began at the western edge. The rules are the same everywhere: quiet, covered shoulders and knees, and nothing moved.
