A monastic complex known by the name Khorakert. The building belongs to the Armenian tradition, and it is the most conspicuous monument in its part of the region.
The place lies in the far south of Kvemo Kartli, by the state border, in the Akhkerpi area. The nearest neighbouring shrine, the church of Saint George near Akhkerpi, stands about two kilometres away.
A pilgrim should keep two things in mind. First, the area is close to the border, and the state of the access roads and the order of travel are best found out in advance. Second, the usual rules apply at the monastery: covered shoulders and knees, quiet, and photography by agreement.
