Church ruins in Kakliani. The name of the village goes back to the Georgian word for walnut: such place names usually speak of what grew around and are found across the country.
Kakliani lies north east of Dmanisi, away from the main roads. The nearest neighbours in the area are the naeklesiari at Sunukhgorgi about three and a half kilometres away and the Didi Kviratskhoveli naeklesiari a little further.
Access inside may be limited and is worth checking before setting out; from the outside the place can be seen freely. Treat the ruins with care: do not move the stones and do not climb the walls.
