A church known as Ipnobi in Dagheti. The name goes back to the Georgian word for hornbeam, a tree of the local woods: place names of this kind are common in mountain Georgia and speak of what grew around.
Dagheti yields five shrines, and this is the only working one among them: three other churches of the village are ruins and the fourth is a place where a church once stood. The nearest neighbour from here is not one of Dagheti but the monastery of Saint Andrew, two kilometres away.
The village is drawn out over four kilometres and cannot be walked. Begin at this edge and move west, to the ruins and the naeklesiari. The usual rules apply: covered shoulders and knees, quiet.
