A monastery dedicated to the apostle Andrew the First Called. By church tradition it was Andrew who first brought the preaching to the lands of the Caucasus, and his name is borne in Georgia by houses both ancient and new.
The monastery stands north of Bolnisi, between the lands of Dagheti and Kosalari, away from the inhabited villages. Neighbours are many: the Ipnobi church in Dagheti two kilometres away, the church by the Mughuti nasoplari and the church of the Mother of God of Irdasubani within much the same radius.
The house keeps its own rhythm, and a visit is better arranged in advance. The usual monastic rules apply: covered shoulders and knees, quiet, photography by agreement, and no walking about the church during a service.
