The church of Saint Nicholas stands in the northern part of a nasoplari near Kosalari village in Tetritskaro Municipality, on a fenced plot. Irakli Tsitsishvili, who described the nasoplari of the Ktsia gorge in the middle of the twentieth century, calls this place the Tapani nasoplari, and a village of the same name is marked on the map of Vakhushti Batonishvili.
The church is small, about eight metres by four. Large boulders lie in the lower course of the masonry and smaller stones in the upper. The walls survive to a height of two metres, so many details can no longer be told apart.
The entrance is on the south and the door was arched. One more door is cut in the north wall next to the sanctuary and evidently appeared later, to reach an annexe. Of the windows, only traces of the eastern one are visible. A slightly fluted apse is separated from the hall by a two tier side wall holding two small rectangular niches, and two tier pilasters stand at the middle of the long walls and at the western end. Sources assign the church to the 10th and 11th centuries.
