The church ruins by the Kirakoza nasoplari lie deep in the valley of a right tributary of the Poladauri, on the right bank of a ravine, on a steep slope. The hall building of about six metres by four is laid of rubble on a stone base. Sources assign it to the 15th and 16th centuries.
There are two entrances, in the south and west walls. The south door is dressed outside with a large architrave and is arched within. The west one, shifted towards the northern end of the wall, was given a single step arch outside and stayed rectangular inside.
Three windows gave the light: the east and west ones are arched both outside and in, though the west was cut later, and the dressing of the south one is unclear. The apse is semicircular and separated at the side, rectangular niches are cut on either side of its window, and clay resonators are set above them to improve the sound of the singing.
💡 Tip
- Clay resonators set above the niches of the apse
- The west window was cut later than the others
