The church has two names: some call it the Gantiadi church, others a church of the Transfiguration. The first looks like a toponym, the second like a dedication, and together they do not contradict one another, but which is the primary one local tradition does not say.
The church stands in Tikilisa, a village on the Tsalka plateau, north of Tsalka. It is one of the most visited rural churches of this part of the region, which is a notable figure for a high plateau with sparse villages.
There is no fixed schedule of services, but the site can be approached at any time. The rules are those of any working church: covered shoulders and knees, quiet inside. The roads on the plateau are open, windy and snowbound in winter, so check on access in advance in the cold season.
