The church of the Virgin Mary stands in the Pashaani tract in Kvareli Municipality, on the site of a settlement that has since emptied. The hall building is laid of brick and cobble, and the church is active.
There are two entrances, on the west and north, the side one cut in the western part of the wall. Both doors are straight outside and arched within, and the west opening is noticeably wider than the north one, almost two metres. A semicircular apse closes the sanctuary, its floor raised by steps with a solea adjoining it, an arched window is cut on its axis and windows of the same kind sit in the south, west and north walls. Arched niches, semicircular in plan, flank the sanctuary window, and an altar table stands before it, set a little away from the wall.
Two plain pilasters divide the long walls with arches thrown across them, an eastern pair of half columns separates the apse from the hall, and the pilasters rest on brackets. Half columns stand in the western corners as well, carrying an arch along the west wall. The inner structures are of brick, the vault is half cylindrical and the conch is brick too. The facades are set in irregular cobble masonry with even courses of brick, and a cross is formed by recessed masonry on the east gable. Sources assign the church to the 18th century.
