The Svetitskhoveli complex in Vardisubani in Telavi Municipality consists of two churches standing side by side. The northeastern one is three times smaller and dedicated to the Virgin Mary, while the second and larger bears the name Svetitskhoveli. Sources assign it to the 19th century.
The large church is laid mostly of brick with courses of cobble within the walls. On the east the sanctuary is separated from the hall by broad walls, and the apse is semicircular within and five sided outside. The interior measures about fourteen metres long including the sanctuary and six and a half wide.
A bell tower built at the same time adjoined the church on the south and is now entirely ruined. There are two entrances, both on the south, one of them restored, with doors carrying parallel arches and a straight lintel. The interior is bright: nine tall arched windows, some of them also restored. This is one of five church sites in Vardisubani.
