The Kvelatsminda church stands in Vardisubani village in Telavi Municipality. The hall is rectangular in plan, a little over four and a half metres by four, laid of hewn stone on lime mortar.
The building is damaged unevenly: the east and west walls stand about three metres high while the other two are half that. The entrance is on the south side, and the covering of the door and its sides have collapsed.
On the east a semicircular apse holds a fairly wide rectangular window on its axis, with niches resembling a projection made on its south and north sides. A small rectangular window sits in the west wall as well. This is one of five church sites in Vardisubani.
