A salotsavi is a place of prayer, an independent type of revered site: neither a parish church nor a chapel, but a spot where people come to pray. This salotsavi is a family one, bearing the name of the Tsiklauri family, and no dedication is given for it.
Cheremi is one of the densest villages in Kakheti: more than a dozen church sites stand here, from an episcopal cathedral to a niche at a former church site. The village lies south-east of Sagarejo, at the foot of the Gombori range, and the salotsavi stands in its upper part.
A salotsavi usually has no schedule of services at all, and that is normal for the type: it can be approached at any time. Seeing it takes only minutes, so it is sensible to fold it into a wider route through Cheremi. Behave as you would in a church: quietly and with care.
