The church of St Marine stands in Khashmi. In Georgia the saint is called Marine, and her feast day, Marineoba, is widely kept in the villages, with a shared meal by the church.
The church stands apart from the other Khashmi ones: about two kilometres to the basilica of St George, a little over three to the Trinity of Katsareti. The Ujarma district is closer: the Kviratskhoveli church about a kilometre and eight hundred metres away, and the fortress above the Iori beyond it.
The place is quiet, the gates are not always open, and it is easier to get inside by arranging it in the village. The rules are the usual ones: covered shoulders and knees, a headscarf for women, quiet. On the feast day it is better to come early, or it will be crowded by the church.
