This is another church of Saint George in Vachnadziani, standing about a kilometre south-west of the Amidasturi church. Two churches of the same name in one village is an ordinary situation in Kakheti, usually resolved by an added word: the neighbouring church has Amidasturi, while this one carries no qualifier and is told apart by its position.
Vachnadziani lies north-west of Gurjaani, along the road towards Telavi, and stands out for the number of its church buildings: four here. Besides the two of Saint George there is the Kashueti church, whose name echoes the Tbilisi church on Rustaveli Avenue, and one of the Virgin in the southern part.
The yard is freely open; inside is entered for a service. Dress with shoulders and knees covered, a headscarf for women, and speak quietly on the grounds.
