A parish church of Saint George, the main church of the village. It serves the parish itself, that is the local residents, and lives by their calendar.
Tela holds two religious buildings: this church and the monastery of the Archangels about a kilometre away. For eastern Kakheti such proximity is rare: villages here usually make do with a single church, and monastic houses are uncommon. The village lies north of Lagodekhi. The century of building is not established.
The yard is open and can be approached at any time on any day. Dress modestly, women wear a headscarf. Both churches of the village are easy to see in one visit.
