The church is dedicated to Saint George and completes the Kuchatani cluster. The three churches of the village stand within a hundred and twenty metres, each with its own dedication: the Nativity of the Virgin, the Resurrection and Saint George.
Such density is unusual even for Kakheti. Kuchatani lies west of Kvareli, among the vineyards of the Kvareli neighbourhood, at the foot of the Caucasus foothills. Both Kvareli Lake and the Kindzmarauli monastery are close by.
This church has round the clock access, which its two neighbours lack: it can be approached at any hour. The rules are those of any working church: covered shoulders and knees, quiet inside. The whole cluster can be walked in a few minutes, so the visit needs no day of its own.
