The church is dedicated to the prophet Elijah, and that is a rare case for Vazisubani: the two other sanctuaries of the village carry the names of localities instead of dedications, the Mijna sakdari and the Churchlis sakdari.
The church stands on an unnamed country road, away from the residential streets. Vazisubani lies on the Alazani plain north-west of Gurjaani, among vineyards, and its three sanctuaries are scattered within a couple of kilometres.
There is no fixed schedule of services and the site can be approached at any time. The three churches of the village can be walked in an unhurried hour, and the roads between them are level. The rules are those of any working church: covered shoulders and knees, quiet inside and in the yard.
