The church dedicated to Cosmas and Damian stands in Kalauri, about half a kilometre from the church of the Archangels. Cosmas and Damian are venerated as unmercenary healers, and people traditionally come to their churches with requests for health.
Kalauri is part of Gurjaani Municipality, in the belt of continuous vineyards between the Alazani and the foothills. The village holds several churches, which speaks of its size in the past. The roads are paved and both Gurjaani and Telavi are equally close.
Modest clothing is expected, with shoulders and knees covered. The site remains part of the everyday life of the area, and that deserves respect.
