Unagverda lies in the surroundings of Vachnadziani in Gurjaani Municipality and is today almost completely ruined. Most of the surviving walls are buried in earth and overgrown, so the plan cannot be established without excavation and clearing.
The building was large, about twelve and a half metres by ten and a half, and a fortress wall enclosed it on three sides. Both sides of the apse of the main volume have survived, together with a small fragment of its conch, the walls of the diaconicon south of the sanctuary, the apse of the southern church and the southern part of the west fortress wall.
The walls are laid of cobble of varying size on lime mortar and evened out with plaster, which still covers a good part of the facing. The apse of the hall is horseshoe shaped, its southern side separated from the long wall by two steps, one of them crowned by an impost of plain profile. Two tall horseshoe niches rise straight from the ground in the north wall of the diaconicon. Sources assign the building to the 6th and 7th centuries.
