The church of Saint Barbara stands on the north-western edge of Cheremi, about a hundred and thirty metres from the Tsverodabali church of Saint George. The two buildings effectively form a single stop at the edge of the village.
Cheremi stands out for the number of its church buildings: about eight, scattered along the whole length of the village on the old road from Kakheti to Tbilisi. The nearest neighbours of this pair stand to the north: the Trinity church and the building dedicated to Saint Kvirike. The village is best walked as one route from north to south.
Both buildings are best approached on foot, leaving the car where the asphalt ends: the approach is unpaved and turns soft in rain. Dress with shoulders and knees covered, keep quiet, and treat the structures with care.
