The Holy Trinity church stands in the northern part of Cheremi. A dedication to the Trinity, sameba in Georgian, is among the most widespread in Kakheti, so a search has to rely on the name of the village.
Cheremi stands out for the number of its church buildings: about eight here, scattered along the whole length of the village. Such density is explained by the history of the place: Cheremi was a notable stop on the old road from Kakheti towards Tbilisi, and churches accumulated over centuries. The nearest neighbours of this church stand a couple of hundred metres away: a chapel of Saint Kvirike and, a little to the west, the Tsverodabali church of Saint George with the church of Saint Barbara.
The yard is freely open; inside is entered for a service. The village is best walked as one route from north to south, allowing an hour or so. Dress with shoulders and knees covered and keep quiet.
