The Kviratskhoveli church stands in Kalauri. This is the second of three churches of the same name in the area: a dedication to the Resurrection is so ordinary in Kakheti that within one district such churches end up in different villages and blur together in a search.
The village lies north-west of Gurjaani, between the highway and the foothills of the Alazani valley. Besides this church Kalauri holds a second one, of Saint George, in the central part: it draws noticeably more visitors and serves as the parish centre. The neighbouring Kviratskhoveli churches stand in Jimiti to the south and in Mirzaani in the south-east of the region.
A village church may keep no fixed schedule; service times are learned on site. Dress with shoulders and knees covered, a headscarf for women.
