The Kvelatsminda church by the western edge of Kistauri is another church of the village, a few hundred metres from the church of John the Evangelist with its tower. Kvelatsminda means All Saints in Georgian: one of the old collective dedications under which a church unites all the heavenly intercessors at once.
The way here is a field road, and that has a genre of its own: from the showpiece ensemble with the tower, through the village street, to the quiet church on the edge. So the Kistauri route finds its completion: three churches of one village, from the notable to the intimate, with a field and the horizon at the finish.
The church is seen freely, with ordinary courtesy: a quiet voice, respect for the fields and yards. The field road is passable in dry weather; after rain it is better walked.
