Nasoplari in Georgian means the site where a village once stood: the people left, the name remained. Korubani is such a place, and only fragments of walls survive from its church. This is a monument rather than a working parish, and a visit should be planned accordingly.
The ruins stand in the foothills between Akhmeta and Telavi, on a slope by a dirt road. The place belongs to a small cluster: about a kilometre away is the Sachino monastery with the small Bzasakdari church, and less than a kilometre off other ruins, higher up the slope.
The site is open and can be approached at any time. Treat the masonry gently: it is crumbling, and there is no need to lean on the walls or climb them. The climb up the slope is short, but the dirt track turns slippery after rain, so closed shoes with firm soles are the better choice.
