Kvelatsminda is the Georgian name for churches of All Saints: literally all the saints. It is a convenient dedication for a village church, since it is not tied to a single name and covers the whole calendar of saints at once. The feast falls in the week after Pentecost.
The church completes the seven Chumlaki buildings and stands in the southern part of the village, not far from Tatias Sakdari. The full Chumlaki set looks like this: two Marian churches, one of St. George, one of a Martyr, two family churches and this one. For a single Kakhetian village that is a collection remarkable in the variety of its dedications.
No dating has become attached to the building. Dress soberly, women bring a headscarf. A circuit of all seven village sites is better planned by car: they stretch over about two and a half kilometres.
