The church stands in the Kobtavi locality by Paldo village, and it is known by both names. No separate dedication has stayed with it, and the one name in use is that of the place.
Paldo lies in the Kakhetian foothills, near the road that climbs to the Gombori pass. Four kilometres from here the Ujarma district begins: the old fortress of Ujarma stands above the Iori valley, and several village shrines are scattered around it. The closest of them is the Kakhelebi church.
This is a village church, and the gates of such churches are not always open: if you want to get inside, ask in the village whom to approach. The usual rules apply within, covered shoulders and knees, a headscarf for women, quiet, and no photography without permission.
