The Deity church in Babaneuri is the second of that dedication in the immediate area: a church of exactly the same name stands in neighbouring Maghraani, only a couple of kilometres to the west. The confusion is best avoided at once by going on the name of the village.
Babaneuri itself is notable for its density of churches: four buildings here, and no dedication repeats. Besides the Deity church there are a Trinity church, a church of Saint George in the south and one of Saint Marine to the west. The village lies east of Akhmeta, right at the entrance to the Alazani valley, and all four fit into a short walk.
The doors are opened during the day and evening. Dress with shoulders and knees covered, keep quiet, and a headscarf is useful for women. To see all the churches of the village, allow an hour or so at an unhurried pace.
