The small church of the Sachino cluster carries its own name, Bzasakdari. The first part of it, bza, means boxwood in Georgian: what exactly links the church to that tree is not explained by local tradition, but the word has stuck firmly in the name.
It stands higher up the slope than the monastery, about half a kilometre from it, in the foothills between Akhmeta and Telavi. The word small in the name should be taken literally: this is a modest building, and a visit is better planned together with the monastery and the ruins of the same cluster.
No regular services are held here and the site can be approached at any time. Seeing it takes a few minutes, while the whole cluster with the monastery and the ruins can be walked in about an hour. The path up is unpaved and slippery after rain, so closed shoes are the better choice.
