A parish church of Saint George, the second in the Dilikauri quarter. The pairing of dedications is familiar in Georgia: the Mother of God and Saint George between them account for most village churches, and each is approached on different occasions.
The quarter is stretched along the slope and about two kilometres separate the two churches, so it does not look compact. All of this is part of Zeda Sakara, Upper Sakara, raised above the Kvirila valley; lower down, by the valley itself, lies Lower Sakara with its own parish. The age of the building is not established.
The church is in use with few services. Dress modestly, women wear a headscarf. Both Dilikauri churches and the monastery by the village make a short circuit, though the climb is better done in dry weather.
