The parish church of Lower Sakara, the main church of its half of the village. Georgian states the division outright: kveda means lower and zeda upper.
Lower Sakara lies closer to the Kvirila valley while Upper Sakara climbs the slope, and the division is an old and practical one: vineyards and arable land below, yards and pasture higher up. Upper Sakara holds three more holy places: the two churches of the Dilikauri quarter, of the Mother of God and of Saint George, and a male monastery. No one names the age of this church.
The parish is active and people come from beyond the village. Services follow the church year; dress modestly, women wear a headscarf. Both halves of Sakara are easy to cover in one trip.
