A new place for ecotourists has appeared in one of the Georgian nature reserves
The Minister of Environment and Agriculture said that despite the quarantine and its consequences, work on the improvement of tourist trails does not stop to this day. Over the past year, two hundred kilometers of ecotourism routes were restored.
To maintain and develop the eco-tourism industry, new unique objects are being created.
Within the framework of the United Nations program, the purpose of which is to increase the efficiency of management of the main protected areas of Georgia, an unusual scenic route has been created on the site of Borjomi-Kharagauli Park, the arrangement of which took more than 70 thousand dollars.
The facility will be operational from June 9. For the convenience of local and foreign visitors along the way there are signs in English, recreation areas, tent rental. 32 kilometers ran through the mountains to the village of Nedzvi.
Along the way, tourists can get acquainted with the historical and cultural places of Georgia of the 9th-10th centuries.
The Agency of Protected Territories, the Global Environmental Fund and the Caucasian Nature Fund took part in the implementation of the project to equip the route. The heads of the participating departments have already visited the equipped zone.
