The record of Annapurna is the most inaccessible mountain of all the eight-thousandth mountains in the world
At 13:30 local time on April 16, 2021, the base camp received a message about climbing to the top of the first bunch. A group of climbers as part of an international expedition made a record ascent of Annapurna. The record of this ascent is in the number of participants. For the first time in the world, 68 people came to the top of the eight-thousand-meter peak in one day. And the same number went down.
Annapurna (8091 m) is the most inaccessible mountain of all the eight—thousandths of the world. The death rate of climbers is 32% in the entire history of climbing. The route along the southern wall is a difficult climbing in conditions of constantly and sharply changing weather. Storm wind and altitude complicate the situation.
In the mountains, on a difficult route at an altitude of more than 7000 meters, it is necessary to work quickly, which means that the more mobile the group, the more chances of success. Success in high-altitude mountaineering is not considered to be “conquering” the top, but a safe descent to the base camp.
Friday, April 16 was a happy day for climbers from Nepal, India, Taiwan, Russia, Pakistan, Georgia and Mexico. People from different countries went to the top together, overcoming difficulties and helping each other and won together.
