Fatal beauty Ushba
On the border of Kabardino-Balkaria and Georgia, the double-headed Ushba Mountain rises in the Greater Caucasus chain. Climbing routes to Ushba are technically difficult on both sides: from Kabardino-Balkaria and Georgia.
Ushba is called a killer mountain because of the number of tragedies that have occurred on it. Legends and mystical stories have nothing to do with it — the mountain is really very complicated and there are no simple routes to it.
You can take a look at the two-horned Ushba from Mestia, the administrative and tourist center of Svaneti. To the foot of the mountain there are tourist routes through the picturesque forest past waterfalls to the Ushba glacier. There are many hiking trails from Mestia and they are all impressive.
Did you go to the Zanner glacier, but didn't have time for Ushba? We will have to plan this route for the next visit.
