However, such a gift can turn into serious problems at the border. The fact is that the Georgian customs only allows wine to be exported in factory containers, and the wine producer and his address must be indicated on the bottle. If this information is not available, then such a "gift" can bring you a lot of trouble.

Therefore, my advice to you, no matter how wonderful the homemade wine of Uncle Sandro or Aunt Sofiko is, it is better to drink it right at their house and not try to conduct Georgian customs. Yes, and one more thing, the generosity of the Georgian customs is not unlimited – therefore, you can export no more than 3 liters of wine per adult. However, if it seems to you that this is not enough, then you can take 2 more liters with you, while paying a state duty of 10 euros per liter for them.
