The Miracle of Georgia – the Pillar of Katskhi
.A temple has been built near the Kakhskkhura River in western Georgia. The most remarkable thing is that it was built on a huge limestone monolith 40 meters high (VI century).
According to ancient legends, it is believed that this pillar makes people closer to God. Rites and ceremonies have not been held in the temple since the Turks invaded Georgian territory. The church was gradually destroyed.
Prince Bagration made an unsuccessful attempt to climb the hill in the VIII century. And only in the first half of the XX century, climbers climbed the monolith, thereby paving the way for pilgrims. Today the temple has been restored.
You can climb up to it by a suspended ladder. The bravest tourists will remember this exciting event for the rest of their lives.
