The flag of Georgia, also known as the "flag with five crosses", was adopted in January 2004. The National Flag Day is celebrated on January 14, when the Parliament of Georgia approved the law "On the National Flag of Georgia" after the "Rose Revolution".

On the same day, a white-red flag was erected over the country's parliament building, which replaced the old symbol - the dogwood-colored flag of the first Georgian Republic with black and white stripes.

This is a white cloth with five red crosses, the central part of which is divided into four fields by the St. George's Cross. In the center of each field there is one Bolnisi cross. This Christian symbol represents Jesus Christ and the four apostles.

Also, five crosses combined into one symbol can symbolize the wounds of Christ that He received during the Crucifixion.

Хотелось бы конечно увидеть и их. Интересно, что закон, установивший флаг и герб Грузии был принят только в 2018 году. Фраза, которая находится под щитом, изображенном на гербе Грузии "Сила в единстве" коротко и ясно описывает грузинский народ. Ведь Грузия - многонациональная, но в то же время и сплоченная страна!

И то, как связаны два цвета между собой, имея значения самых ценных качеств, говорит о том насколько эта страна мудрая и сильная. Герб Грузии не менее интересен и уникален: Святой Георгий символизирует силу духа и христианские ценности народа, серебряный или белый цвета - власть, золотой и красный цвета - власть и богатство, а львы и корона символизируют силу.

    Я в детстве не могла понять, что на гербе родного сибирского города делает лев. Они же здесь и близко не живут. И уже относительно взрослой узнала: это символ. Лев на гербовом щите - сила, мужество и великодушие народа.
