The Resurrection church is the main working church of Kvishkheti, an old dacha village at the entrance to the Borjomi gorge. Services follow the church calendar, and the parish here is visibly alive: the church is kept, the yard in order, and for the feasts the whole village gathers.
Kvishkheti with its four churches is a ready unhurried route of a couple of hours, and the Resurrection church in the centre is its natural starting point. From here it is easy to walk to the small Elijah church nearby, climb to the Transfiguration and descend to the Iveron on the western side.
Guests are met kindly, and the rules are usual: modest dress, a headscarf for women, silence during worship and no filming of those at prayer. On Sundays the church is busy; for a calm visit choose a weekday.
